Dinerbour
2019
Designed with Daniel Tobón, Kati de Jong, Edzard Wentges
Dinerbour was designed to facilitate connections between neighbourhood residents over a shared meal. Upon subscription through the app or website, members will be assigned to a group of four, with one assigned as the host and the other three as guests. A meeting date will be arranged through the app, and each guest will soon receive a box of ingredients for the shared meal. On the stipulated date, guests will bring their boxes and ingredients to the host's home to prepare the meal together. Functioning in a similar way to a meal subscription service, residents pay for subscription packages depending on how many shared meals they would like to have.

Dinerbour was designed for the residents of Middelland (a small neighbourhood in the Rotterdam-West area of the Netherlands). Given Middelland's culturally diverse population, cooking was chosen as the channel to facilitate interaction between the different ethnic groups.

User Journey
Residents can sign up for Dinerbour either via the website or app, filling in their particulars, available dates as well as their preference as a host/guest for the shared meal.

Once registered, residents can browse through food recipes or find friends and neighbours that they may know.

Residents will be notified once they have been added into a group, and each will receive a box of ingredients within the next few days.

On the arranged meeting date, residents will bring their ingredient boxes to the host's home to prepare the full meal together.

When the boxes are put together, residents can access an interactive map of Middelland through the Dinerbour app. They can introduce themselves by pointing out their address on the interactive map.

Residents can proceed to cook and enjoy their first meal together.
